Nina Schwanse lives and works in Los Angeles. Using drawing, painting, photography and time-based media, Schwanse enacts narratives of physical and psychological trauma, exploring the confluence of public and private as it relates to fantasy, desire and anxiety. Schwanse holds a BFA from Cooper Union and an MFA from The University of New Orleans. She has been included in screenings and exhibitions nationally and internationally, and has been featured in Art21 and Art in America. Schwanse runs and curates Home Alone Los Angeles, an experimental exhibition space in suburban Glendale, CA.
